Not perfect. It is beatable. But it's damn good.

This is how you do end screens correctly (in case you were wondering)

Or maaaaaybe the Living Computer Museum, where I'm buying the buttons from? Dunno.

Did Winnitron ever have coin-op compatibility?

...would the raygun be interested in an indies machine?

So... Shared variable credits count? "Release credit" button? Probably as a "p1/p2 start" button on the board.

It wouldn't be hard to say "treat a press of F7 as a coin in slot 1, F8 in slot 2", though people would probably get mad if inserting a coin during game-select just ate it.

Scenario: it would be extremely easy for me to, at this point, make an arcade machine.

Thought: indie arcade machine?
Other thought: coin-op game jam? Also thought: Donate them quarters to charity?

It doesn't have any attribution attached, unfortunately, but it is *cool as shit*

What's up, videogames? How's videogames?

Perhaps the way to make progress is go ahead with making highly parallel processors, but push your PDP-11 emulation to the side. Make C a second-class citizen and let the erlang programmers show up and go "lol I'm faster than you ever were" and have data to back it up.

Re LB:this makes me weirdly optimistic? Like the true future of performant code can be its parallelness rather than nitpicky memory management. I still don't want to go learn a functional language, but I'd probably still rather do that than one of the motorbike languges.

I got good at Beat Saber surprisingly quickly. Two sessions ago I beat an expert map for the very first time, tonight I finished off the list of shipped-with songs. Or perhaps the agonizingly slow pace of ITG/DDR improvement has given me a poor idea of the speed of that improvement.
