Fediverse House continues this afternoon with a developer meetup. And there are lots of developers here! It’s been fun getting to meet them in person.

Up first is @reiver taking about a common problem with mastodon instances - caching overloads. And decentralizing search, custom feeds. They have an idea - robin.live

@manton takes the stage to talk micro.blog and the fediverse

A common theme today at is owning your own content. Be that a blog, Indieweb site, or a social media account - you should have full control over it. Your own domain is a big part of it.

On a side note, one thing I like about micro.blog is that you can enable a feature to push all your content to your own git repository on a regular basis. Built in backups!

Hmm I did not know this…micro.blog has some type of import process for your posts on other platforms - Twitter, Wordpress and ghost were mentioned.

Will have to check this out! Exports in various formats as well.

@evan is up next, speaking about the open social web and getting people moved away from centralized platforms.

Whiskers are in prime condition.

Also I apologize for my photography skills, it’s making it look like we are at a fediverse standup comedy open mic night. 🎤

@box464 I'm embarrassed to say I hadn't heard about Fediverse House, but I'm all in to watch a "fediverse stand-up comedy open mic night.-

@box464 Thanks for documenting it, looks like a lot of fun. And love the pics!

@box464
