Language exams are sort of nonsense really aren’t they? I mean I passed the C1 French exam but I still have trouble asking for a sandwich in a bakery.

Also, the things that are supposed to difficult, like expressing an opinion on an article about fracking, are way easier than trying to understand an everyday conversation between two French people. For some reason ordering a sandwich requires super precise pronunciation even though you are pointing at the thing you want and then you have to understand whatever unexpected vocabulary the server might fling at you in response.

And the language exams don’t test things like what the heck do you do if you’ve already said “bonjour” to someone and you want to get their attention a second time without being impolite?
