Whenever the papers talk about Brits in France, it’s always retired people living in a British enclave. It feels like they are trying to make an image of people not integrating and not paying taxes. But this is just lazy journalism, probably because it’s easier to find a bunch of people to interview in the enclaves than it is to go to a city and find French-speaking working Brits.
