Legit: this started to become the big trend with iOS 7 and then was blasted into popularity by Google’s apps and Android 8’s adaptive icons. There is such a great canvas for creativity, but too many apps slap a logo on a white plate and call it an icon.

I also kind of bet Android 11 (or a future version) will have dark Theme adaptive icons. The white icon trend is ridiculous, and Play Store already does adaptive light/dark masked icons for transparent PNGs.
