Even though I have a ton of projects and have no business picking up anything else, I have finally started learning C, something that I've put off for 25 years. Decided to go with Learn C the Hard Way, anyone have any opinions/advice? #C #programming

Quick question someone in the BSD world might be able to answer (maybe @bcallah ?); what license is the OpenBSD release songs published under? The stuff at openbsd.org/lyrics.html

Anyone have thoughts on the Rust programming language?

Anyone have thoughts on ? Seems like a proper form of unholiness to make it useful to people

Note to self: deploying stuff with Kubernetes is always *way* more work than you first think it'll be.

Today feels like a good day. Maybe is was winning the fight to release one of our products with semver numbers? Maybe it was getting INTERSECT ALL to work in the SQL engine? Maybe it's just Friday.

Here's to hoping it continues :)

How often do y'all see what your boss is doing, think "well, there's a better way", but then let it slide because it's not worth the conflict? I'm still in search of the happy middle ground (I tend to argue more than I probably should)

@kaniini @feld we've been way too confortable writing elixir code, ̟͙̖l̶e̱̠̠̭̝t͙̯͖͜'͙̜̪͔s̡̝͕̫ g͎̬̠̰͝o̬̫̱̣ ̸̦͙͚̘̩̰d̛͎o̧͚̩̣̫̫͍ ̣̻̹̯s̜̲̩̱͡o̥̜͘m̰̮e̙̱̺͙̥ ̧̬͙̜̼̲̤̹r͏̗̟͎͉͍e̬̰̹̲͇a͙̖͉̬͞ͅl ͏͓̳̻͎ͅc̵͕̗o̟͖͘ͅḑ̳̰̖̥͇e͚̥͜ ̖̟f̵͓̠̻̜̫͈̭o̼̙̲͎̕r̠̹̪̭̺̳̘ ̹̜ó͙͉͈̮̜̳n̴̙̟̜̳̱c̦͔͔é̟̯̠̣̱̤ͅ ̢̺̳̙̙ͅa͏̞̙͈̘͖n̞Ḍ ̼̥̪͕W̰͉͇̹̟͚̕r̗̭̭͔̘i͡t̕e̟͟ ̖͍̩͓̜͠P̙̖͉͎͉̫̼̕H̦P͓͔̞͙

How come we still have to worry about styling conventions in code? Wouldn't one think that we'd have tools to take care of the "mundane" parts of programming at this point?

You are on the right track when you can add a feature while removing more code than you write

We've only got 19 years left to patch all those 32-bit devices before the Unix End Of Time.

I helped fix a lot of Y2K stuff. This time round, there's no way we're gonna catch everything. No way.

I need to make sure I'm dead before then or well enough to not go anywhere NEAR any kind of medical facility.

One doctor I went to is still using Windows XP and wanted to know why I thought they didn't need my social security number.

Those $300,000 MRI and X-Ray machines aren't getting patched, but are online..
