I'd call them turtle buns, but the recipe calls them pineapple buns. Despite that they're coconut filled and have no pineapple in them. Ah well.
A pity so many splorched their fillings during the bake. Next time I'll knead the dough more, rest the dough less, and give more room on the pan.
At the request of my family for a bread with thinner armour, I baked the King Arthur sourdough sandwich loaves. I didn't like that it took yeast in addition to the levain... seems like cheating and I don't know if stores have yeast again around here... but it sure is tasty. (Maybe needs a little less sugar)
Good news! It is indeed tasty. It has some big holes, some small ones (I think this is called an uneven crumb), and is still fiendishly dense... but it tastes nice by itself and excellent with butter.
