@citrustwee I'd say, if you ignore the part with the Girls, he actually has a point. Consuming media while caring for your privacy has really become hard. And even the Tinder part is representative for todays web where the "standard" /quasi monopolist services for applications like online dating are owned by big players like Facebook.
@citrustwee I feel your pain bro. Is this meant to be ironic? The beef is totally legit. I try to live my life free of the “free” software surveillance state and no one I know IRL is willing to put up even with the minor inconvenience of using fediverse. I mean it’s not hard it’s just a choice. Fuck them. Live free or die
I guess I never believe these guys when they tell elaborate tales about why they can't find a partner. I'm thinking it's more likely it's b/c they're condescending snots when they talk to tech-unaware women. Or they only approach women who meet some Hollywood Manic Pixie Beauty standard while making no effort on their end to look or smell good. Possibly both. But that's just me. I've already vowed to stay single forever if the current thing doesn't work out.

As a twenty year old single male I
think it's very hard to find a girl
who's actually interested in free
software. I've had girls jokingly ask
to "Netflix and chill" but when I tell her that I don't
use Netflix since Netflix requires proprietary
software to stream content, they stop talking to me.
And worse if they do stay they think I'm weird since
I blocked google IP's in my host file and we can't
even watch youtube. I can't ever seem to get girls
to come over to my place and I can't text them
either. Once I get their numbers since I've added
customs roms to my phone and refuse to use sms
since it's a security concern I require all of my
friends to download a free and open source
messaging app and I share with them my public
gpg key so that we can verify that our
conversations are secure. None of my friends are
willing to do this. And I can't use sites like tinder
since it's not only proprietary software but a major
privacy vulnerability. How come it is so hard to find
a girl concerned about software freedom. I feel like
I'm going to be a virgin forever.

@citrustwee what a baby just use Google containers so they can't track you outside of their sites if you're so worried
What I've learned here is that het dudes have to work overtime to render themselves un-dateworthy whereas all het ladies have to do is put on ten pounds and have a couple of chipped fingernails.
Misandry is real. 🙄
