Mozilla recently made a minor change to the icon for unofficial self-compiled versions of Firefox, which I use, and it's surprising how rapidly I noticed and how wrong it currently feels. I'll get over it, but I'm apparently really, really used to how the old one looked.
i see the icon changed in ff 70. So maybe it os official after all? (and it bugs me as well)
@ttyS1 Interesting; I just updated to the official Mozilla FF 70 for Linux, and in my X session the icon looks unchanged from before.
(It's possible there's a subtle change. In my unofficial build, the globe changed to what looks like a star field, so maybe the official icon changed the globe too and I just can't see it because of the fox in the foreground.)
indeed it is a subtle change of colors
