It hasn’t rained for like 2 months. I decide to climb a big hill? Of course, have some rain.

Though that last note - and this one - were sent from the thing so it's working 'adequately'. At the moment.

In to the "Every time I fix an issue, something else breaks" stage of setting up a Linux phone :-D

More writing OSes to phones’ internal storage. More crossing fingers and hoping I’m not creating expensive bricks.

It's "flash a new OS on a phone" time. Wish me luck...

An app called ‘Photomyne’ in no way sounds like it’s totally going to sell all your personal data 😂

I’m actually feeling angry at how bad Plasma/Manjaro is and that I have to flash a device after maybe 5 minutes of use. And by use I mean entering my name, connecting to wifi and looking at the settings menu.

I feel bad calling Plasma awful now in case someone who worked on it sees I said that.
Words have consequences, kids.

I suppose the solution is roll up my sleeves and find a way to help the project…

I’ve used either Maemo or Sailfish for half of the last decade so I’m used to a lack of polish in my OSes but Plasma Mobile on Manjaro is stand-out awful so far..

@dajbelshaw Me! I’ve had my Jolla since 2013, I switched to an iPhone a couple of years ago but now it’s a spyPhone it’s being flogged so I’m back on the Jolla.
It is an excellent OS - once you’re used to the swipe actions it’s natural to speedily navigate everything with a single digit, though it’s let down by the lack of native apps meaning requiring Android support. I am still considering whether to get a Sony Experia XA II as my new device as the Jolla with Sailfish 3 is too old nowadays.

So close to choosing an eReader and then Pine Note gets announced and I have to think again…

Pfizer vaccine side-effects update: craving broccoli. This has never happened in my life.

Do people build libraries to interact with APIs because they're scared of cURL?

@david Nothing wrong with PHP. Don’t let the snobs tell you otherwise 😁

Apparently Zoom straight up lied about conferences being E2E encrypted, and didn’t tell anyone that they were passing personally identifiable data to Facebook & Google for years.

They have just had their ass handed to them by the FTC, and members of a class action lawsuit will be receiving compensation. Also… maybe don’t use Zoom unless your employer makes you. 😬

I’m sure I’d reached a “it works just enough” moment and then moved on…

Hmm. Posts that are replies to instances other than mastodon.social don’t thread properly. Because this is hacked together by someone who doesn’t really know what he’s doing.

@aral I don’t like .it in domain hacks, ‘it’ alone is too strong as a verb in English and it’s hard not to read ‘Nodek it’ (which sounds like a successor to the fax!). So I voted for opt.2 😁

There’s a burger on tv. 2kg. 4x the size of the biggest one I’ve ever managed.
“I can do that” I say aloud.
Idiot.
