@cypnk Very interesting, and I appreciate your #cyberpunk affinity. It's absolutely become reality by now, but in other ways than we imagine. We're living in a sunshine happy-go-lucky cyberpunk world, what not even the most cynical minds could have predicted back then. The dark aspects of our world right now are totally existing, but much less visible.

@cypnk The 2018 update would be to have some Bitcoin mines in there. It's really *the* place where everything comes together...

@cypnk Halfway through the video. Watching this in Tor Browser on a librebooted T400 feels like lifestyle #cyberpunk in comparison. We actively chose to go this path and to associate ourselves with the relatively luxurious western version of "cyberpunk" - they didn't have a choice, nor did they have any of the technology, yet their existence is 100% cyberpunk. Scary shit.

@cypnk interesting, because this tv report doesn't romantically idealise the situation of the people who lived there, unlike the info image in the first toot (which i had seen before)

@ente @cypnk all although I'd doubt the objective approach of a documentary which uncritically features a woman "healing" drug addicts from their addiction with prayer and spirituality.

anyway, very interesting stuff. and cyberpunk is always ambiguous about romantics and misery....

@ente That’s why I included it here. I felt it was important to see the outside and inside perspective
