Some things I discovered in my wood stove adventure:

- Welding is 30% art, 10% science, and 60% what kind of welder you own

- Ventilation, Ventilation, Ventilation

- All welding electrodes/rods are not made equal, but if all else is equal, 6011 is good enough

- If your welding electrode didn't stay dry, it's junk

- Cast iron > Steel for heat retention, but sometimes, worse is better for other reasons
