I don't know if I've mentioned this before, but if you're doing any home rewiring or have the walls open for some reason, might be a good idea to install some Cat6 cable or maybe even terminated optical cable
It's a good opportunity to have data connectivity in a new area and you can even install IP cameras at some point if you have any spare terminals
Wireless is great for a lot of things, but if speed and lack of interference are important, go with wired
There are lots of DIY tutorials too
@cypnk I personally hate as Wi-Fi as Bluetooth, for their terrible reliability. I prefer LTE to the wired ISPs though, because the former provide less shitty and also cheaper service.
Generally I'd say: use wired if you can, use wireless if you must.
@amiloradovsky I noticed my Bluetooth headset worked a lot better since connecting most of the computers to Ethernet. Since I live in an apartment, there's always some interference, but it was a huge improvement
@cypnk my (wired) headphones with a five-metre-long cable work much better than the BT BS and also have longer range
@amiloradovsky I have one of those too. But I like to listen to music when I cook. Also, I have a roommate so playing on speakers isn't always an option
@cypnk If you're implying that the cable would get in the way, putting on the headphones from the back solves the problem. There is still the risk of stepping on the cable though.
@amiloradovsky Yeah I've done that too 😅
My music is on my computer so I just have a VLC playlist. Spicy food is heavy on thrash metal
