in the late 90's i went through a period of switching free email accounts every couple of months. these mastodon exoduses feel familiar.

@d6 I remember a time in the early 90s when there was no shame for having an @aol.com address. Maybe I'll feel that way re twitter one day...
@d6 Those led me to buying my own domain for my email address. And here I am wondering what the server load would be to run my own instance.
