I have three words for you: client-side scanning.

Apple can no longer be trusted on privacy and that makes plans like this very scary.

When ideas that are beyond question come in conflict with reality the response is always irrational and often catastrophic. The notion of infinite growth that capitalism requires is one such idea.

It puts the lie to every claim that portability and reliability can't coexist with long-lasting, durable, upgradeable, sustainable hardware.

I started buying a new laptop every year as a reward to myself for quitting smoking.

The Framework laptop is the first laptop to ever score a 10/10 from Ifixit for repairability. But it's no thick-as-a-brick throwback the size of a 2005 Thinkpad - it's approximately the same dimensions as a MacBook.

You want people to trust science? Remove the profit motive. Decouple science from capitalism. Do away with patents. Do away with closed silos. Ensure 100% transparency and openness. Create and share in the open for the common good.

Samsung can deactivate remotely your TV. Apple opens a door on your phone because you could be potentially a bad guy, Google spies on everything you do or say. So this is the new thing, uh? Well, I see my future me using an ungoogled phone, a CRT TV, a rescued dot matrix printer and a spartan GNU/Linux system. The more I know about the modern technology, the less I like it. #privacy
