Rumors flying that a "spill" is "on" for today - code for a leadership challenge in Australia. We could have dead-eyed psychopath Peter Dutton in charge of the country by the end of the day.

Interesting to see people encountering the benefits and downsides of Mastodon in real time. Federation is a huuuuuge advance over resting control with a single billionaire Jack or Zuck - but comes with usability and privacy tradeoffs. I think Mastodon will be a success for me either way. If it starts to replace Twitter, great. If it stays quiet, it will be like reading a Teju Cole novel: nothing much happens and it is very peaceful.
