@dansup they are since long long time ago, I'm not sure why everyone still thinks it's so important to be highlighted on HN.

@dansup Isn't HN a fork of the old Reddit source code, and thus one of the many cesspools that alternatives tend to be?

@Lofenyy Im pretty sure Paul Graham wrote HN in ARC and Alexis and Steve pitched him reddit and he invested and gave them some important feedback that became what we know today as reddit.

@Lofenyy Pretty sure he was in YC and Paul convinced him to join Alexis and Steve where he went on to write the web.py framework they used for a while! Then he started Demand Progress

There was a thread on r/linux a while ago that was more positive than the one currently there about the new funding. Must've just been the people active at the time.
