Question for people who do #blogging with #Jekyll and #Markdown:
Can I link to a file (eg a larger and uncropped version of an image) in a post? If so, how?
And, should I give the link in the caption, post body, end of post...? Should I give the filesize and dimensions?
(For context, this is a post about selecting fabrics for a costume; I've cropped and scaled images to show in the post, but I want to link to the unedited photos if people need to see more detail. But they're *big* images.)
@DenubisX Ah, so make the image itself the link - so I would then put the linked file's size and dimensions in the caption?
I use HTML to insert the images (so I can wrap it in <p> tags to keep the captions aligned) so would I be using <a href>?
<a href="foo"><div with some stlying><img>captionshit</div></a>
@dartigen I think this the easiest way, at least with #markdown [](http://example.net/)
@dartigen Yes, by making the picture a link to a bigger picture. It's the practice of thumbnailing. I'd start talking about lightboxes and whatnot here, but that's out of scope.
