The repl is courtesy of fengari.io which is a fairly literal port of the PUC #lua virtual machine to JavaScript, so it shares the same GC as the rest of the browser but still gives you full support for coroutines.

Pretty impressive if you ask me. It allows <script type="application/lua> tags to just work without fuss, and it also passes the full Fennel test suite. (We had to hack around lack of filesystem IO but that's to be expected in a browser.)
