@PG_Kelly Hi. I haven’t been adding new mirrors because I’m not sure how long I can keep the service running reliably. A few weeks ago Twitter broke the service I’m using to pull the feeds and I thought it was dead for good. Seems to be working again, mostly. Still not sure it’s worth investing too much time/effort/money though since it could die at any time. Still debating…

A while ago I asked my patrons what features they'd like to see in future Mastodon releases. Now, I'd like to ask you, my followers. I'd like to hear what people outside of GitHub think.

All those years of playing basketball finally paid off. I couldn’t have done it without my hard working teammates or my little league coach.

@Gargron @cnf Interesting. I didn’t even realize it was blocked. Guess that explains why my @ links weren’t working.

Also, none of my mirrored accounts should overshadow real accounts since none of them have real accounts yet (that I’m aware of anyway). The idea was they could take over my mirror when they joined mastodon so they would automatically gain those followers.

I thought Twitter was going to break the tool I’m currently using to create the mirrors. But it seems to be working still. Maybe I should add some more requested accounts. Server May need to be bumped up a level though. It’s running out of memory with Mastodon 3.0.1

Wow, a few of my mirrored.social accounts have amassed quite a few followers:

@elonmusk@mirrored.social -> 1.2K
@nasa@mirrored.social -> 644
@DuckDuckGo@mirrored.social -> 615
@Snowden@mirrored.social -> 311

The display is killer. Multiple times today I’ve glanced at my watch, got the info I needed, and the screen either didn’t go bright at all, or did so as I was putting my wrist down again. Now we just need to let 3rd party apps be always on.

The Game Of Thrones concert was awesome. One noticeable problem: the 100+ft screen showing clips of the show had crazy banding & compression artifacts for the season 8 clips. Doesn’t bode well for the Blu-Ray release being any better!

@revi Hi. I haven’t been adding new mirrors because I’m not sure how long I can keep the service running due to Twitter’s API limits etc. I really need a Twitter API key to do it correctly, but this service would violate the terms of getting a legit key. I don’t want to agree to something knowing I’d break the terms, so it seems unlikely I can keep it alive. Unless a key (and usable Oauth details) fall out of the sky...

I’m decommissioning a Mac Mini that’s at MacStadium. Anyone looking to add one there soon that would be interested in this one? Instead of having me ship it back to Canada?

2012 i7 4-core, 16 GB Ram, 250 GB SSD etc.

@cnf Hmm, sorry for the delay. Looks like something vanished when I upgraded the server. I’ve set all of the accounts as discoverable now, so they’re visible here: mirrored.social/explore

Any devs I know interested in a contract updating (or maybe even completely replacing) a React Native app? DM me and I’ll put you in contact with the client. I don’t have enough time available to do it myself or I would.

It’s time to start treating people who buy new gas cars, the way we treat people who buy fur coats.

@redneonglow@neckbeard.xyz Thanks. Should be fixed now.
