Hey #Mastodon. I've had an insiders early peek at the #Mozfest 2018 testing site ahead of the official #CFP launch this Friday. Any of you with experiences in #decentralization should particularly note not only is Mastodon *specifically* named but so is #ActivityPub!

* With registered #Mozillians in 121 countries, it is hugely important we produce the #Mozilla Festival as an event that inlcudes new voices indicative of this reach. Especially those often underrepresented & marginalised voices at Western tech events.
This means a very limited number of sessions can be supported with travel and accomodation expenses.
We seek new perspectives, mental models, and experience. #CFP open June 1 through August 1.

Open curation process done in Github. Mozilla Foundation run. Purpose is primarily to expand your network through our network.

@maloki some projects from the sprint will apply to hold sessions in October, but there is zero guarantee anyone gets in. No matter who someone is, all accepted proposals go through a very rigourous selection process.
For example, last year I had to personally say no to EFF because they'd asked for travel stipend and had recieved one before. The desire for new voices is by deeply embedded design.

* Queering #Mozfest is a new experience added this year by one of my fav P&S colleagues last year. We were so blown away by a talk on a #Queering, pattern disruptive, 😆 "degenerate", gender fluid culture at an art gallery - they decided to try something based on their passion.
I'm particularly excited about it being represented and seeing the chaotically beautiful experimentation it brings to the festival.
