I was trying to get some PDFs from admin.ch (the Swiss government), the English translation of the Swiss Civil Code, to be exact, where chapter 2, articles 60 to 79 explain how Swiss associations work (think FIFA, ICRC). I can download it using wget but Firefox claims "Secure Connection Failed" while still showing me the green lock. How is that possible? The particular URL I'm looking at: https://www.admin.ch/ch/e/rs/2/210.en.pdf -- and a summary here: https://communitywiki.org/wiki/CorporateMembership
@kensanata I can download it with FF
@kensanata @steckerhalter massive overhaul of privacy UI rolling out in Q3 to help with that ๐
@david_ross I just tried "purebrowser --new-instance --safe-mode" and still got the same error so at least I know it's none of the changes I made myself, I think? Perhaps this still takes changes in about:config into account... Well, at least it's none of the extensions I have installed.
@kensanata yeah I think you're right. Try testing in a new user profile? "Refresh Firefox" would do this and backs up the previous user profile. Though I personally go the "you can never have too many user profiles" paradigm.
@david_ross @kensanata I prefer to use #firejail for this
@david_ross Sounds interesting!
