@david_ross That is a nice statement, but it's a shame TBL and W3C do not lead by example.
While the W3C does not sell user data, (it presumably doesn't even have many), it is itself funded by corporations who are profiting from monetising user data and it is subservient to them, as per the standardisation of Encrypted Media Extensions despite vocal opposition from internet users and digital rights groups.
