Hello friends. My music library is getting a bit well-worn, what's your favorite song? Or a song you've just been dying to recommend.
thanks to SAT_montreal for building the missing OpenVR -> VRPN element !
It's really kind of public service to do that, passing behind the commercial hardware and platform dev to finish the job and provide meaningful tools that will last and be used way beyond the initial short-sight of the "commercials".
that's why I always say we need MORE public investments in free/libre software.
Today in "while I was asleep":
It turns out media URLs in toots are totally unnecessary, and were only automatically added to the new toot compose box because posting images without text was arbitrarily not allowed. XD
So, in the next version of Mastodon, media without text is allowed and media URLs will not be automatically added to new toots.
Currently I have a bunch of choral demo tracks on, er, YouTube.
Is there a good #openweb alternative where I can upload these videos?
Just a quick note:
If you use something that someone in the open source community made, there is a good chance that they have no idea.
So you know, feedback can be useful, even if it is just 'I use this'.
Another enjoyable #MastodonLDN meetup! As well as Mastodon, discussions covered many related open web projects such as PeerTube, Searx, Open Media Network (OMN) and more. Sounds like the focus for the next one will be on the standards and motivations behind some of these projects. Thanks again @hamishcampbell and @david_ross for organising, and @mozilla for hosting! #meetup #london
Is this dressed enough?
I like how here on mastodon people understand when you say that outrage is tiring.
A couple of months ago on some other site I won't mention I would've gotten yelled at for saying that outrage is tiring and I would be branded all kinds of horrible words, just because my spoons deplete quickly from negativity
