Every first world nation other than U.S. has universal healthcare. Supposedly, the U.S. is "different."

But... is China similar to Germany? Is Israel similar to Thailand or Hong Kong or Peru?

In what way is the U.S. different from the rest of the world that makes universal health care impossible, yet possible for all these very dissimilar countries?

Today's discovery: Romance languages' "-mente/-ment", a suffix for adjectives to form adverbs (like English "-ly"), is from Latin "mens", meaning "mind":

claramente -> "with a clear mind" -> "clearly"
stupidamente -> "with a foolish mind" -> "foolishly"
