@dot_tiff There are cases (like when Oracle bought Sun) where the new identity of the copyright holder changed all existing copyright notices from the old to the new name.
I don't see why it wouldn't work for indviduals.

@dot_tiff I know someone who is trans who has had to use the dead name in licenses. I've been told that it's possible to get around it by licensing it to a company. This allows the owner (even if it's LLC) to remain relatively protected

@dot_tiff There are authors who famously published under pseudonyms, not sure if that applies to software. I suppose it might really only matter if you have to enforce it.
