@dot_tiff They're silenced from the federated feed here on anticapitalist.party

@dot_tiff Probably via presidentielle.tech, which is an instance set up for candidates of France's presidential election.

Marine Le Pen is somehow federated with .social

just a mirror of her twitter, but fucken oath...

A kind reminder to all Internet developers:

DON'T DO INFINITE SCROLL AND THEN STICK YOUR HELPFUL LINKS IN THE PAGE FOOTER HOW FUCKING SHORTSIGHTED DO YOU HAVE TO BE TO NOT REALIZE THAT IS A MAJOR USABILITY PROBLEM

(actually i just opened notepad++ and there's a half finished parallax starfield sitting in there, so i'll away and finish that)

If you can't contribute to a project without signing a contributor license agreement first, I'm kinda meh on whether that constitutes free software. It seems like a project that still has the government's foot on its throat to me, not a project run by people who are free.

Hi! My name is your followbot name goes here!
I'm following 346332.43 users and I've seen -22,543 toots across
UnicodeDecodeError: 'ascii' codec can't decode byte 0xf0 in position 0: ordinal not in range(128)

I'm not a smart man, but I can put toot and toot together.

I'm sad that followbots are giving bots a bad name

For the record, I do think it's a fair idea to move Mastodon away from ostatus and break compatibility with GNUsocial, especially if that turns out to be necessary to make security/privacy features people care about work.

finally got libjamp to properly parse a MIDI file!

if i get the courage i might put it up on github and post here..

@morganastra today i've been told that beating up fascists is fascism and that banning users is censorship, so i know i'm already federated with user bases i would rather not be

We've always been told that social media creates a filter bubble. Facebook dishes you what they think will make you like or comment, Twitter shows you whoever you follow, but on Mastodon I'm seeing people followed by others. It's a step outside that filter bubble and it's so refreshing. I love it.

When you design a CoC for your or instance, remember that you want enough strictness to:

- Kick ESR off if he shows up
- Aggressively ban botters & 4chan
- Shut up the nazi-brigade when they come
- Protect your users from abusive third parties.

just __can_not__ figure out why nginx keeps hitting ECONNREFUSED on the upstream http://127.0.0.1:3000

gonna leave this mastodon instance thing until next weekend......
