@dpwiz @ehashman Well, if they win they'll be dead and so will any person that could even inherit the benefit of the bet, so really they shouldn't accept any odds over zero.

Personally, I don't think plastic is on the same shelf as DDT. It is versatile, cheap and durable. And lifted quite a few people out of outright abysmal living conditions. It's the single-use/disposable consumerist mentality that's putting shit tons of plastic waste out in the world.
