So yay! I was able to get #emacs #orgMode to work properly with #rtl. I'm still wondering why I need to edit a config file for org-mode to support a feature emacs supports out of the box.
Sadly, the TODO and DONE markers at the start of task lines breaks rtl behavior (because the line direction is determined by the first "strong" character, in this case T or D).
Yeah, mastodon doesn't align paragraphs individually, it aligns the entire post/toot/whatever, so the entire previous post is aligned left...
Ok, to get the todo list paragraph in #orgMode to behave nicely in #rtl I just need to start it with a heading in rtl, like this (it probably won't work on mastodon):
* משימות
* TODO לעשות קניות
* TODO להפיל את הקפיטליזם התאגידי
* DONE לבלות את ימי בחוסר מעש
