Crazy Dungeon World session. My PC is on a collision course with another PC in the wake of the death of a third PC. Glemban the brave, a steadfast gnome paladin, and the conscience of the party, has died. He was the best friend of Malor, an outcast elf cleric in a world where elves are violently opposed to religion. My PC, Gur, a young human druid, saw Glemban as sort of a father figure (Gur was orphaned at a young age), and now idolizes him after his death.

We are fighting an extradimensional creature named Blacktalon, who is seeking a body in our world to be able to get in. We discovered that a girl named Rilya, whom we once saved, seems to be able to survive such a possession, and is hence coveted by Blacktalon. Anyway, we got news that the monastery where we left Rilya was under attack so we rushed towards there.

After more or less securing the monastery we entered the hiding place where the monastery's people were hidden. We met Rilya, told her about Glemban and then Malor embraced her, took out a knife and stabbed her!

The moment Malor took the knife out Gur attacked him but wasn't able to stop him from stabbing Rilya. Then I remembered something. When Glemban died some of his spirit stayed with us (in dungeon world terms, it's a special dying move by a paladin, giving his comrades the ability to summon him to protect or heal someone just once).
Now we had a great Malor vs. Gur fight. Our core party is made of Xindary, a group of "chosen" by a mystic tree called Ma'agmuri, to be its protectors. But Gur isn't Xindary. He's this good for nothing village-fool cattle herder who happened to meet the Xindary on a critical moment, and that became a useful part of the group because of his shapeshifting abilities.

But Gur is not the brains of the group by any stretch of the word, and until Glemban's death he was mostly just this lost child, tagging along. Now he attacked Malor: "You have become A'uda! You have forgotten Glemban and chose A'uda's path! When A'uda appeared before us trying to justify her actions do you remember what Glemban did? He banished her with his magic sword!"

And now Malor attacked: "You had no right to interfere! You are not sent by the gods like us! This plight is more than us and more than anyone's life! I need you for the fulfillment of this quest, but don't imagine that gives you the right to put our quest at risk!"
And Gur said: "I'm not Xindary, I'm not sent by the gods, but I'm sent by life and by the land, and I will protect life, like Glemban".

That's most of the craziness we had. It was brilliant. Malor's player has relly made this exchange extra fun, as I feel we are building up this drama and tension together. Why the hell aren't people playing more #roleplaying games? No game beats this!

So Gur summoned the spirit of Glemban who appeared (played by his original player, who now has a new PC, but returned for a moment to his old role) and immediately healed Rilya, admonishing Malor for falling so low. The monastery people, understandably confused and harrowed, kicked us out.
