I was repairing my original from 91, which I think hasn't worked for the last 15 years or so. How was your day?

@ink_slinger partially. I cleaned the corrosion off of the battery compartment and got it to turn on, and cleaned the silicone switches and the buttons to make them work again (they were extremely dirty. I played this unit from age 10 till 16 or so and this is the first time it got opened. And 16 was... 22 years ago...). One of the D-pad switches was broken. I ordered a new one. And the screen is full of dead lines (there's a simple way of fixing this apparently).
