elementary OS 6.1 Jólnir is available now for new and existing users! For OS 6.1 we’ve focused in on addressing your feedback, making the OS more useful with office productivity features, and expanding compatibility with a wide range of hardware. https://blog.elementary.io/elementary-os-6-1-available-now/
Our 6.1 blog post is sponsored by Laptop with Linux, one of our hardware retailers. Get a new laptop or mini computer with elementary OS 6.1 pre-installed and support both elementary and Laptop with Linux! https://laptopwithlinux.com/?ref=36
The Applications Menu in elementary OS enables you to open and search your apps, and it’s even smarter in OS 6.1. Now you can search for your Files bookmarks, more easily find settings via search, and secondary-click search results for an app’s related actions!
Lastly, our hardware retailers Laptop with Linux, Slimbook, and Star Labs are all offering elementary OS 6.1 Jólnir out of the box now. Visit retailers’ individual sites for more information, and check here for devices with elementary OS: https://store.elementary.io/
There is *a ton* more that we skipped in this thread! Check out the full announcement post for all the details: https://blog.elementary.io/elementary-os-6-1-available-now/
If you’re on elementary OS 6 Odin, you’ll get the update to OS 6.1 alongside regular operating system updates. If you haven’t already, open AppCenter and select “Update All” to be upgraded. For everyone else, head to http://elementary.io for the pay-what-you-can download.
It’s a minor thing, but over in Initial Setup, you can now set your own device name—this is used as the “hostname” for networking and as the default name when visible via Bluetooth, for example. And we smartly use a prettier name or a more machine-readable name as required.
