Yesterday I used sf::st_make_grid(..., square = FALSE) to create a hexagonal grid, which seems an example of an option that should've been an enum instead of a boolean.
square = FALSE doesn't tell you what shape it is and doesn't allow you to easily expand to other types of grids.
