What messaging app do you prefer? I don't like the big ones owned by Facebook, Google and Microsoft.

I use Telegram because it allows me to stay logged in from many phones and computer at the same time. But am not sure about it.

So in your opinion what is the best messaging app out there?

@jedie @elsander I would recommend #Signal as well. Open source, tested encryption, desktop client and all other features you would expect from a messenger.

@scroom @elsander @jedie The only thing that bothers me is that Signal is not decentralized. That (and the problems with Marlinspike and forks of his software without the need of gApps) led me to stop using it.

@elsander I use Signal and love it. Its encryption protocol is open and tested (unlike Telegram's), and it works pretty well on the desktop.

One problem is that I still use a Windows 10 mobile as one of my phones. (yea I know, but it works). Telegram got options for Windows, I have to check the other ones. (or change phone)

Pretty sure the only option for Win10 phone will be telegram. For me Signal is the best option, but you are pretty limited with that OS. I remember when I used a Windows Phone last I had to use telegram. But that was a few years ago :)
