“Your vision will become clear only when you look into your heart. Who looks outside, dreams. Who looks inside, awakens.” - Carl Jung

"Either we are in the universe to inhabit the eternity of our souls and grow real, or else we might as well dedicate our days to shopping and kill time watching talk-shows," he wrote. Let's not "let our days fall away like empty shells and miss all the treasure… Each day is a secret story woven around the radiant heart of wonder. The sacred duty of being an individual is to gradually learn how to live so as to awaken the eternal within you."

"There’s this idea that prophecy is, like, somehow, magically predicting the future. But if you look at stories about the prophets, that’s not what they do. Mostly, what prophets do is simply say what is actually happening and then say what the extremely obvious consequences of this will be."
Anonymous guy on the internet, but I agree 200%

"Television shows us movie stars, men and women with beautiful bodies and extravagant clothes. But that is not the reality of the majority of people! The beauty of human beings lies in their capacity to accept who they are, just as they are; not to live in a world of dreams or illusions, in anger or despair, wanting to be other than they are, or trying to run away from reality."
– Jean Vanier, Seeing Beyond Depression

“No one can tell what goes on in between the person you were and the person you become. No one can chart that blue and lonely section of hell. There are no maps of the change. You just come out the other side. Or you don’t.”
Stephen King, The Stand

“There are more things … likely to frighten us than there are to crush us; we suffer more often in imagination than in reality.”
Seneca

“Our job is to love people. When it hurts. When it’s awkward. When it’s uncool and embarrassing. Our job is to stand together, to carry the burdens of one another and to meet each other in our questions.”
Jamie Tworkowksi

“Almost. It’s a big word for me. I feel it everywhere. Almost home. Almost happy. Almost changed. Almost, but not quite. Not yet. Soon, maybe.”

After reading this I'm thinking about adding "occasionally struggling with nomophobic tendencies" to my profile. ti.me/2vXTVJU

Can't understand this at all. Anybody here with insights?

"So why then, do liberal, feminist calls for equality stop at borders? I am at a loss to understand why equality is purely for one particular group of people and not for others. If I believe in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, then surely that shouldn’t change no matter who I am or where I live – even if I was an Afghani woman living in Kabul or a Persian living in Iran, a woman in Riyadh or Roscommon?"

My old Oneplus one died and the only phone I could find fast was my mothers old Lumia 830, I haven't used a Windows phone for three years. Surprised to find good clients for mastodon on an almost dead platform. Win 10 on a phone works surprisingly well, I hope Microsoft keeps trying a little longer.

“Once upon a time there was a boy who loved a girl, and her laughter was a question he wanted to spend his whole life answering.”
Nicole Krauss, The History of Love

Took a look in a drawer, found all these phones just laying there like old corpses. Once I invested money and time in them. Now there is no trace of any ghosts in those machines. They are up for recycling!

@paulfree14 the "free speech" angle from the far right was always a lie. They're not actually interested in that and will be the first to take your free speech away if they're in a position to do so.

Tolerating a variety of viewpoints is fine, but tolerating the speech of intolerant people who only want to kill or deport you is logically inconsistent.

"Note to Self: None of us are getting out of here alive, so please stop treating yourself like an after thought. Eat the delicious food. Walk in the sunshine. Jump in the ocean. Say the truth that you're carrying in your heart like hidden treasure. Be silly Be kind. Be weird. There's no time for anything else."
Nanea Hoffman

“Christianity does not consist in the belief of so many doctrines, articles and principles (as some suppose) but in conformity unto the one eternal principle… the Light of Christ manifest in the conscience…”
