Wearing the culottes to Janelle Monáe.
Now established in my room for the all-hands. Learned about CLI linux networking on the bus up, many thanks to @jrconlin for helping a noob.
I had two parked domains for Mastodon instances, and finally redeployed one today.

I'm a big fan of blocking, honestly. If I make you uncomfortable and the things I say make your life worse? You should definitely block me!
It can be hard not to feel bothered by being blocked, but it's not always about you, y'know? Try to let it go.
People have the right to curate their spaces online, regardless of reasoning.

White Cishet people don't understand Misogyny, Anti-blackness, transmisogyny, misogynoir, et all.
The issue is without a diverse staff, things cannot run in a fair and egaltarian way. Even w/o a staff, FOSS is very "cishet white dudes" which makes it hard for marginalized groups to get involved.
Not even accounting for the ableism.
If you want Keybase verification to work with Mastodon: @Gargron made a comment *last November* requesting just to get on a “suggested support” list: https://github.com/keybase/keybase-issues/issues/518#issuecomment-257590800 — they haven’t even added it to the list yet. Maybe add your 👍🏻 to the comment?

It's kinda weird to think about a social network where businesses own their own presences, rather than relying on a capricious third party service like Twitter or Facebook. Imagine NBC or The Verge running a Mastodon instance for their reporters to toot from, or Bethesda operating an instance for PR and customer support. No more lost business when Facebook changes their algorithms again because they need more money from boosted posts.
Weird, right?
NASA's Cassini mission is about to end and I am definitively more emotional about this than some of my actual waning friendships with real-life people who are not space robots

What if mastodon instances were like Second Life surnames before the display names thing (I'm sorry about that one, by the way, Caledon.) We'd let around 10,000 residents or so (@yoz do you recall the number) take a surname like Nowhere (I was so jealous of Emma Nowhere's name) before removing it from use.

Live Journal, the word you are looking for here is Live Journal.
Mastodon users would dance in a circle around a burning FB data center.
