@starbreaker Hmm would there be an easy way to block Facebook _except if I'm at facebook.com_? I'm required to continue to use FB for work (and cannot change that no one hop on this to criticize me) but would love to truly limit my use.
@starbreaker I can limit it to a specific browser but no, clients use messenger as their point of contact. I suppose I could like, messenger->pidgin and such... hmm...
@starbreaker I guess I should stay focused on the meta-goal, which is "get to a position where i can disqualify potential clients who'd make me use fb"
@emsenn Lemme rephrase: do you have a SPECIFIC laptop and phone that you use for work? If so, don't fuck with them. They'll remain Facebook friendly.
But you can edit the hosts file on computers and phones that you don't use for work s that they block Facebook.
@starbreaker I got what you meant - I don't unfortunately, since I work from home and everything goes through my personal devices.
@emsenn Word of advice: you should fix that ASAP. Depending on how you report your income for taxation purposes, you might be able to deduce the cost of dedicated hardware for work as a business expense.
@starbreaker Could & did under previous years, this upcoming year things are very different (thanks, Trump) and I'm not expecting to successfully deduct anything.
@starbreaker I forgot to say, though, thank you for offering the advice.
@emsenn Can you limit your work-related Farcebook usage to a specific device?
If so, then you need only edit the hosts file on devices you don't use for work.
