like i love Rust and all, but it lacks simplicity and it isn't lightweight by any means, it feels like a heavy industrial tool whenever i'm working with it, even if on the surface it's elegant and makes a ton of sense
i'm starting to seriously consider #zig. it looks very compelling as a new simple and lightweight low level language that actually competes with C at a similar complexity level

For the longest time Jon Ronson reveled in the fact that Twitter gave a voice to the voiceless ... the social media platform gave us all a chance to speak up and hit back at perceived injustice. But somewhere along the way, things took a turn.
I accidentally stumbled upon https://scuttlebutt.nz/ and i'm very intrigued. This is exactly how I imagined social networks should be like, local-first, cryptographic identity based and independent of any server, and was about to build my own protocol almost identical to this.
Was about to ask if you've seen this @neauoire , but then saw your name in one of the presentations . How's the experience of using it, and do you still use it?
the new horizons edition was the prettiest switch i wanted for a while, and the game itself seems quite fun. also got BOTW. that said, my sad european ass paid 20% on top in taxes and imports , no ragrets
