When you mock a Bad Person for being queer, the rest of us see that and we remember all the mockery and shame directed at us, or around us keeping us in the closet; you remind us that those attitudes are still there, lying just below the surface, waiting for an acceptable target.

Explain to me how it makes sense that it's not at all bad or shameful or deserving mockery that I'm queer, but it is when someone else is because they've done something else unrelated? For bonus points convince me it's what you actually believe and not a post-hoc rationalisation.
