I don’t want alerts for swap usage. That’s a bullshit reason to alert. I only want to know if the system is paging in/out a lot.

100% swap usage is NOT a problem

@cynicalsecurity Note that won't recover USB network interfaces when they have errors and/or get detached by software for any reason. USB wifi drivers in particular can't reload firmware in their interface watchdog. It runs in interrupt context and hence cannot sleep (loading a file from disk requires a sleepable context for disk I/O). This could be fixed but nobody has done the work to make it happen.

PCI-based wifi devices such as iwm(4) will provide a more reliable connection.

I dunno if @gargron or other Mastodon devs would agree, but I think it would be awesome if I could integrate Mastodon with static blogs created by Jekyll and other static site generators.

I just need something I could embed on my end. It renders when a visitor accesses a page on my blog, and they can use their credentials to toot directly from the page with a URL pointing to my blog post.

Unless this is already implemented and I just didn't know...?

If you are going to at me with anti-Apple memes and catchphrases at least use something that is more up to date.

"crapple", really? You sound like a conspiracy theorist from the CNET comment sections in the early 2000s.

The new anti-Apple meme is

C O U R A G E

Update your vocabulary, fam.

Now that tons of people have literally lost everything in Florida and Texas do you think they’ll finally support single payer healthcare?

How about free tuition to state colleges for their kids now that they will have to use their children’s tuition savings to rebuild their lives?

Will we bring back a Civil Conservation Corps to rebuild and repair our infrastructure?

Take climate change seriously?

It shouldn’t take major disasters to wake up the right, but nothing else has worked.

normally I'm neutral about my bank.

they're a bank. by definition evil, but they seem to be not actively so, so fair enough.

but when they send me "fraud detected" alerts, they a) contain no useful information, and b) come from some random email domain.

after some investigation (and shouting at my bank), I learn they are legally associated somehow. but, their name isn't anywhere in my paperwork.

fuck you, this is how fraud *happens* you assholes!

What did I do in my life to get here writing a tomcat init.d script because my company doesn't use the standard packaged tomcats and I don't want systemd?

@Elizafox You order an IPv4, but it’s out of stock. You change your mind for an IPv6, but the bartender doesn’t know what it is

I might just have to buy a copy of this book for myself so I highlight and mark up all these great quotes.
