@fraggle This is great, thanks for sharing! Do you have the source link?
Just yesterday I was reading https://www.filfre.net/2017/05/the-many-faces-of-middle-earth-1954-1989/, which was all news to me. Namely, how Tolkien was picked up by the Hippie movement, and that's how it went popular, and how Tolkien viewed it.
@triptych Don't mind me — I'm looking at https://triptych.github.io/ittybittyrpg/alpha/src/ibrpg.html now. (I was on mobile before.)
@nikoheikkila Similar thought process led me to start the Flutter Boring Show, which is based on the fact that we screw up a lot and do not edit ourselves.
Obviously not a Bob Ross-level of polish and charisma. But some people seem to like it. And it has a good side-effect of decreasing impostor syndrome in some people.
@raygan Ah. Which gave me an idea to search for "curated mastodon list" and came up with https://github.com/tleb/awesome-mastodon#news--magazines-bots. Ok, that's a start.
(But if you know about other folks from #intfic or short-gaming community here, please do recommend.)
@raygan Thanks! So far it's hard for me to find people to follow here in general, but I guess that's true for any new social network.
I also enjoy reading and games.
Fun fact: I was big in Japan once (http://www.philipage.com/).
I really root for the fediverse. This is what social networking on the internet *should* be like. I thought it would have come sooner, to be honest.
I work in the Flutter & Dart team at Google. I build silly software. I write a procedural book. I like pancakes.
