flatmate, covid

It's quite a difficult situation since looking for another room in this time would be a major pain in the ass.

flatmate, covid

After arguing with him, it usually takes me some time to calm myself down and manage my anger. So, basically I can stay at home all I want but I am still at risk because of him not giving a fuck.

He keeps pointing out that I also go to work and that way I am also exposing myself. How is that different from him going out? I mean of course there is a difference. I go to work and not to meet a girl I've been chatting with online.

He is a nice person otherwise and quite understanding but he's absolutely not practicing any restraint regarding covid.

I have obviously tried to address this with him multiple times but instead of having a rational conversation, all I get from him is whataboutery and rudeness.

Now, the problem is that he has actually started to go out more than usual. Not only, his friends/dates are coming over more than usual. Perhaps because he is bored.

My flatmate is a student, his university is shut and all courses have gone online. So, basically he doesn't have a reason to go out everyday besides shopping for essentials.

So, for context, I am in Sweden where there is no lockdown and basically everything is open, the government is counting on people to act responsibly. Fair enough.

Hey , planning to build a writing community where we help each other with dissertations. As an end-stage PhD scholar, I would especially like to reach out to graduates, masters, and early stage researchers who need direction and help. Planning to mix it up with creative writing as well. Tweet back if you like the idea and would like to sign up!

chinavirus?

on the other hand, just because the nomenclature of diseases has been lousy in the past, doesn't mean we have to do it like that now, what are your thoughts on this?

Show thread

chinavirus?

it's a grey area, i understand, since questioning someone's food habits is always going to be difficult but surely there has to be a change now, i am not for bans but some regret, apology, more regulations and promise for reduction in wild animal trade must come from them

Show thread

chinavirus?

but for blatantly running wet markets and being so irresponsible whilst dealing with how they treat animals

Show thread

chinavirus?

i don't think so and for what it's worth, china has to take some responsibility here, i am not going to point out their shortcomings in dealing with the virus, acting late or warning the world

chinavirus?

as per him, sure there will be racists who will discriminate against chinese people living all over the world for no fault of theirs but should that stop us for naming a disease after from where it originated?
