Hi Masto mates, I'm moving to @fortescue. Please follow me over there. I'm importaing all my follower lists and whatnot there now, so forgive me for the follow spam.

Currently on a bit of a Pink Floyd run. Those three albums from the mid 70s - Dark Side of the Moon, Wish You Were Here and particularly Animals - are just magic. IMO goes downhill significantly after that (potentially unpopular opinion - The Wall is pretty much trash).

I think after this I might go for some DJ Shadow.

Okay, I've tried everything else, let's see what happens here. I'm a 56yo IT professional currently facing age discrimination in the job market. My skills are proven and broad. I can do operations, project management, service delivery; am versed in multiple OSs, monitoring systems, ticketing platforms. I'm a technical writer and published author. I'm willing to relocate pretty much anywhere for a job that pays enough to cover my mortgage. I need employment by Sept 30. CV on request. #job #dayjob

Decided to see what would happen if I trained a neural net to write names for self-aware AIs.

This is a fraction of what I've been receiving the past few days/weeks through the App Store and email. It sucks, and it's impacting sales massively (to the point where it makes me question whether continued support is even worth it), but just got to hold it out.

@JPEG Does Mast keep your place in the stream when loading new toots? Amaroq (the client I’m currently using) kinda does, but only if it’s not cold-launching, and only if there isn’t a gap between the root you’re on and the roots that load in the first refresh. I want a client that unconditionally maintains your position.

I really like your stand against Gab, so I’m probably going to buy anyway, but it would be nice to know :)

My favourite fact about Canada is that in the 70's a radio show had a competition for a national simile along the lines of "as american as apple pie" and the winning entry was "as canadian as possible under the circumstances"

A nice writeup of the strangeness going on with Mastodon and Gab that was very informative, at least for me. It's disheartening, to say the least, that this schism is happening. theverge.com/platform/amp/2019

It’s like people forgot there was an internet that wasn’t just the four or five locked-down, corporate-owned networks that exist today.

Braving the weather to go for a walk with the kids. Shops + Library. Fingers crossed we don’t get too wet.

People often wonder why printers are so cantankerous but frankly any device that embeds pigmented runes in the remains of long-dead trees is going to be stricken by an ancient faerie curse from the start

Are there any mastodon iOS clients that remember your position in the tootstream when reloaded? Like Tweetbot for The Bad Site. It’s my #1 desired feature.

Recommendations for a command line Masto client...? There are a few out there. Anyone with real life experiences to share?
