There is apparently strong evidence that the fine structure constant, which is a measure of the strength of electromagnetic interactions, is *variable across the universe*, that is, NOT ACTUALLY CONSTANT.

Like, full disclosure, quantum mechanics is probably my single weakest point with the sciences, but would that imply even shit like molecular reaction rates and such depend a little bit on where in the universe you are?
