So I cast off my 2018 temperature blanket on Jan 1st and I am so pleased with how it turned out. I knit one garter stitch row every day for 365 days based on the daily high temp for my city. It was a very rewarding project.

@julia It’s a billion times cooler than I first thought it’d be. So excited about it.

@franciecashman I've seen a similar scarf with the color of the sky over a year! So cool to see time in cloth.

@franciecashman
This is beautiful! Never seen someone do a knit one before - - I love it!

@hafnia Thank you! I am absolutely in love with it. They’re definitely around, although not crazy common. It is quite the commitment, but I’m so glad I did it.

@franciecashman I admire everyone who actually sticks to a project like this for one year. So cool!

@jules Thank you! It was a labor of love ... for weather! I think the unpredictability of weather really helped with motivation. You get really excited when the weather changes. That, and my mother who I also convinced to do one. A knit-along always helps.

@franciecashman This is one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen knitted! Thank you so much for sharing! 😍

@TQ @Oecan You can do it easily, I put how I did it publicly on Ravelry. There are many variations of it if you look around. I saw a really cool one in grayscale, but I love the traditional rainbow temp scale.

@franciecashman That's such a cool idea. How did you come up with it?

@oneoddfrog My MiL actually told me about it and knew some people in her knitting group who had done them. I started looking around Xmas 2017 and decided to do one during 2018. No real pattern, some people crochet them. Lots of possibilities and color schemes you can do!

@franciecashman that is so, so wonderful and it's just gorgeous. Did you assign a color to every degree, or did you assign it to a range? Have thought about trying to do something similar in my preferred art (embroidery) but the thought of getting organized in advance stops me.

@hfrazey Thank you! The colors are assigned in a range by 10 degrees. I’ve seen some that go in smaller increments like 5 degrees. I saw one that was in gray scale. So many ways to customize it.

@franciecashman I want to say it is really cool, except it's rather hot, isn't it? :thinking_fire:

@franciecashman Oh wow, this is such a great idea for a project!! I'd love to do something similar one day!

@franciecashman That being said: Do you have a pattern or have any tips for someone wanting to do something similar in the future?

@Rheall Hi! Sorry, I just saw this this 🤦🏻‍♀️. I posted how I did it on my Ravelry page. It’s easy to do, just takes a year. Ha!

@franciecashman I love that if you sleep in the foetal position your whole body's in the warm bit of the year!

@franciecashman What a beautiful thing this is. The labour of time and a year we’ll never get back.

@franciecashman wow! I love projects like this that reflect nature in a surprising way!

@franciecashman thats a really cool idea, and looks like such a nice blanket oh my god
