Listening to a great episode of #BSDNow where they discuss #FreeBSD, #OpenBSD, and even #ZIL along with other goodies. Be sure to give it a listen! 👍👍👍

The iXsystems TrueCommand looks really interesting for managing and instances.

It's now possible to use #FreeBSD's ASR in #HardenedBSD 13-CURRENT: github.com/HardenedBSD/hardene

FreeBSD's ASR doesn't randomize the stack and the shared page, so we use HardenedBSD's ASLR implementation to fill those two gaps (when hardening.pax.aslr.status>=2, that is).

FreeBSD Foundation February/March 2019 Development Projects Update

"Two new University of Waterloo co-operative education (co-op) students started working in the @FreeBSD Foundation’s Ontario office. Now that we’re over half way through the work term, I’ll describe some of the work they’ve done so far, and what we expect over the next two months."

I love how easy it is to migrate #OPNsense installations from one piece of hardware to another:

Step 1: back up the config
Step 2: Take down old appliance
Step 3: Install new appliance
Step 4: Restore config on new appliance
Step 5: Nothing to see here, move along.

Found out the cause of the cfi-icall scheme violation in the #FreeBSD NFS utilities: github.com/HardenedBSD/hardene

Essentially: supporting Cross-DSO CFI is crucial for proper cfi-icall support with NFS-related utilities. Ouch.
