I got .99999999 problems, but a float ain't one

Earlier today I learned that the next C standard will have more advanced float handling, letting you specify the rounding mode. The story goes that when C first supported floats, many CPUs handled floats differently. CPUs eventually standardized and got beefier float support, but C was stuck with its old ways. Now C is gonna get caught up in that department.
