Home-made drone:

Laser-cut wood as a frame, Arduino as a flight controller, gyroscope from a Wii controller.

The rest is off-the-shelf: motors, ESC controllers, RC equipment.

@fribbledom How much did all that cost? I see you mention the wood is only a few pennies, but I'm not familiar with the cost of the motors and stuff lol

The motors and their controllers are ~$60.

You can potentially re-use existing RC equipment, otherwise that's likely the most expensive part of this entire setup.

@fribbledom the only drone I have is a little starter drone with a camera, so no parts to re-use lol

I need to repair my drone, I tried to learn how to fly it indoors (got pretty good at not crashing it before one of the gears flew off the propeller and got lost)

$60 is less expensive than the drone I have, so that's pretty great!

@fribbledom @lesbianhacker Is that price point in total, or for individual items? If it's in total I want to know where you shop, 'cause I can't find parts that cheap.
