Three conclusions to draw from denying access to software & the importance has for technology users, public bodies, and businesses alike:

Nothing stops Google from providing Huawei some kind of Play Store: they're only banned from doing businness with them...

@nobru @fsfe the Google Play certification process is business, and without it no-one is authorized to install the Play Store. They can still do it, but it wouldn't be legal. Maybe this'll get Huawei to build an alternative platform, although it would probably be proprietary (and thus worthless)

What an absurd situation! I agree with the @fsfe, this is not one you would encounter in a free software environment.
