We fully regard civil wars, i.e., wars waged by the oppressed class against the oppressing class, slaves against slave-owners, serfs against land-owners, and wage-workers against the bourgeoisie, as legitimate, progressive and necessary.

    - V. I. Lenin, Socialism and War (1915)

Revolutions and revolutionary wars are inevitable in class society, and without them it is impossible to accomplish any leap in social development and to overthrow the reactionary ruling classes and therefore impossible for the people to win political power.

    - Mao Zedong, On Contradiction,” (August1937), Selected Works, Vol. I, p. 344.

[Our purpose is] to ensure that literature and art fit well into the whole revolutionary machine as a component part, that they operate as powerful weapons for uniting and educating the people and for attacking and destroying the enemy, and that they help the people fight the enemy with one heart and one mind.

    - Mao Zedong, “Talks at the Yenan Forum on Literature and Art” (May 1942)

From the moment when the priests use the pulpit as a means of political struggle against the working classes, the workers must fight against the enemies of their rights and their liberation. For he who defends the exploiters and who helps to prolong this present regime of misery, he is the mortal enemy of the proletariat...

    - Rosa Luxemburg, Socialism and the Churches (1905)

Communists should set an example in being practical as well as far-sighted. For only by being practical can they fulfil the appointed tasks, and only far-sightedness can prevent them from losing their bearings in the march forward.

Gandhians can never defeat RSS. Hindutvawadis are stronger than ever. Khichdi alliances aren't a long term solution. Congress is going to lose to BJP in 2024 as well. Unless a principled Bahujan-Left front gets created, there's not much hope.

And the usual Pro-Gandhi speeches were obnoxious. You can never equate Gandhi with Ambedkar. Ambedkar is our emancipator not Gandhi. It seemed that most of the organizers & protestors were oblivious about the history of the struggles of india. Basically the protest lacked energy.

He asked the people not to submit documents to the govt authorities. Why didn't he declare that his govt won't allow NRC in Maha? I'm still wondering about the actual agenda of the protest. Dalit shahir Sambhaji Bhagat was also present. I could sense he too was disappointed.

There was same old Azadi naara along with the other usual slogans. The actual marginalized folks spoke only for a few minutes. There was an NCP politician as well. Considering its an NCP coalition govt, why didn't they allow the protest to be extended? Or was it just a natak?

I visited yesterday's Thane protest and i must say i was terribly disappointed. It felt like a huge echo chamber where all the usual suspects came. On top of that, the Thane police gave permission only for 1½ hours. Still some folks cheered for them.🤦
